Days 79 & 80
NOVEMBER 18 & 19, 2019
BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA AND IGUAZU FALLS
We did not visit Buenos Aires. Sure, we docked in the harbour, but the only place Karen and I we went to was the airport, where we boarded a 737 and headed to Iguazu Falls about 1000 km north. And, believe me, it was worth it. I won't even try to describe the National Park which includes the Falls, there isn't enough space in this blog. Instead, you can watch this video:

The highlight of our first day was the river boat ride. This is the most fun you can have while wearing a life jacket.

Then, we went into the Falls - exhilarating!! :
Naturally, we all were soaking wet, but, as it turned out, that was a good thing, for our drying clothes acted as a personal air conditioner in the 98 degree heat. Good to know.
Rather than rushing to the Falls and returning to the Sun on the same day (which was an option), our excursion included an overnight stay at LOI Suites Iguazu Hotel situated amid the jungle - it definitely is 5 star:

Day 2 - time to view a few of the 275 individual Falls from above. Our guide said that the rains this year were "poor" so the water flow was below normal - that was evident. Nevertheless, the first video above shows the Falls in all its potential glory.
As we strolled the 6 kilometres of walkways above the many streams, there was a continual background screech produced by cicadas and crickets, the kind of sound you often hear in jungle movies. And, although we saw the occasional coatis, lizards and small birds, we saw no colourful parrots, macaws or large animals.
Despite the fact that we did not get to visit Buenos Aires, Argentina, don't cry for us:
